The Tocqueville International Value Fund's investment objective is long-term capital appreciation consistent with preservation of capital. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by primarily investing in non-U.S. companies.
Exposure to international companies, growing global markets and world-class, non-U.S., firms can offer investors attractive investment opportunities. Including international stocks in a portfolio also expands its diversification.
The Fund's investment strategy is contrarian and value oriented. We seek stocks of companies with strong business franchises and strong balance sheets that are down in price, out of favor with investors and trading at a substantial discount to intrinsic value. Stock selection is bottom-up, based on intensive proprietary research and a disciplined investment process.
Under normal market conditions, the Fund will invest at least 65% of its total assets in stocks of companies located in at least 3 different countries, which may include developed and emerging market countries. However, emerging markets exposure is limited to 20%. The portfolio typically contains 45-55 positions which include stocks with a wide range of capitalization. We also aim to keep Portfolio turnover low.
