The Tocqueville Gold Fund's investment objective is long-term capital appreciation. The Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (which includes, for purposes of this test, the amount of borrowings for investment purposes) in gold and securities of companies located throughout the world that are engaged in mining or processing gold. Gold can be an important portion of any diversified portfolio and may help to offset risks associated with adverse financial climates.
The Fund is designed to provide exposure to Gold stocks. Historically, Gold has been considered by some to offer a haven during turbulent market conditions. As such, some exposure to gold funds in conjunction with other holdings, may protect portfolios against inflation and currency devaluation risks.
